AC Schnitzer Lightweight Forged Wheels

Light - Lighter - lightest

The AC Schnitzer Type VIII forged alloy rim is the lightest TÜV-approved wheel available worldwide exclusively for BMW vehicles. In size 8.5J x 19 inch, it weighs in at just 8.3 kg. That's a world record.

Alloy wheels are substantially lighter - by 25 to 35 % - than conventional steel wheels. This reduces rotation forces on the axle and perceptibly improves cornering. The homogenous material structure and a higher specific strength allow far lower wall thicknesses and a slimmer design with simultaneously greater strength.

The rims are therefore less susceptible to external damage and offer much more driving pleasure.
AC Schnitzer uses legendary wheel manufacturer. The “Fuchs wheel” is a legend for every sports car fan.

Like these icons of sports car manufacture in the 1980s, today the AC Schnitzer forged alloys are produced in the Meinerzhagen factory of Otto Fuchs. Only the few know that Fuchs is still one of the premier wheel

manufacturers. Not only BMW, but all other leading manufacturers rely on the forging skills of the Sauerland company.

“AC Schnitzer is the first tuner for whom we've made forged wheels,” says Fuchs spokesman Joerg Ludwig. One unique feature, amongst others, is the aluminium alloy used. “We work with a low-silicon alloy, which gives a very high gloss in the end product,” continues Ludwig.
