All design concepts from AC Schnitzer are created by a true artist: Michele Viandante. Since many years the Italian is our Head Designer.
We have watched Michele Viandante for a whole year during the realisation of our latest Concept Car, the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 GAS POWERED and fixed the most important moments. Now we have a complete photo story starting with the first pencil layout up to the world premiere on the IAA 2007.
The very first design layout was made this time again with a pencil on a drawing block.
Next step is to transform the scetch into a computer model.
The first workings on the basic car: clay is modellised onto the car - the primary pattern is generated.
Handicraft is on demand during the next development stages. Many modifications have to be done.
The design is finally defined. Now all parts can be formed. A negative copy is the result.
Form follows function - functional check in the wind tunnel. Are all aerodynamic calculations correct?
Yes! We can start with the paintwork. Simultaneously to the bodywork also the interior as well as the performance upgraded engine with the gas system are developed.
Only one week left until the world premiere on the International Motor Show Frankfurt 2007. The countdown has started - the GP 3.10 GAS POWERED also. First very careful test drives show what has to be optimised.
We did it and are ready just in time thanks to many helping hands. Now the GP3.10 GAS POWERED has to reach Frankfurt safely.
The new AC Schnitzer booth in hall 1.2 is the temporary destination of the GP3.10 GAS POWERED. The world premiere is imminant instanteously.
Next day the stress drops down from everybody: the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 GAS POWERED seems to be the most popular car in hall 1.2.. And crowds of visitors confirm that we have again done everything right!
